Line-up for Limerick's Féile na Gréine announced
Féile na Gréine is an annual festival based in Limerick city, taking place from August 19 - 21.
The line-up for 2022's edition of Féile na Gréine was announced yesterday, July 21.
Féile na Gréine is an annual three day, not-for-profit, free of charge music and arts trail around Limerick City, organised by local Limerick curators.
Some of the acts scheduled to hit the Limerick scene are: Banríon, Brigid Mae Power, Cáit, Ev Carm, Girlfriend, Heart Shaped, I Dreamed I Dream, Junior Brother, LastMinuteMan, Messyng, Nonsleep, Of All Living Things, Post Punk Podge, and Vacuity, alongside many more.
Taking to social media, the festival spoke about the announcement, saying: "It is with great pride, and a hint of delirium, that we announce the full lineup for this year's Féile na Gréine.
"We are so proud, and so SO excited to welcome you all to our weekend in August."
Ahead of the festival the group are hosting a fundraising event on August 4 in Pharmacia, featuring local alt-indie band Small Church, improvised techno group Le Pizza Galaxie, closing the night with DJ Dewey. Tickets will cost ten euro on the door.
Founded in 2018, Féile na Gréine is run by a team of volunteers. Composed of musicians, designers, photographers, and other creative practitioners, Féile na Gréine aims to place a spotlight on music communities in Limerick City. The festival began as a yearly weekend-long event and continues to build a national reputation for championing Ireland’s emerging and experimental musical talent, while holding up Limerick City as a significant destination within Ireland’s cultural landscape.
The organisation’s operations are guided by strong-held beliefs in DIY culture, grassroots connections and inclusivity within the arts. This year sees the festival return to it's music trail format, after a slight change in 2021's organisation to accommodate for restrictions.
Féile na Gréine is run in association with Limerick City and County Council, with sponsorship from Limerick organisations Crew Brewing Company, Mother Macs Pub, Treaty City Brewery, Pharmacia Bar, The Commercial, and Piquant Media.
Féile na Gréine is running from August 19-21 bring audiences through various venues across Limerick City.
