HONEYPOT and 1815 F.C. to hold World Cup Pre-Party in Dublin
The party will be free to attend and held at Mono's Bar in Dalymount Park on July 14th.
HONEYPOT, the Dublin-based club night run by and for queer women and friends, has partnered with the community-led football organisation 1815 F.C. for a party celebrating Ireland setting off for the Women's World Cup for the first time.
The party kicks off from 7pm on July 14th. Friends of the club Cathy Flynn, mooncup, arvq, Rhyzine and Bro Crush will be there to perform sets until late. Everyone who attends will receive a free World Cup wall planner, and attendees are encouraged to wear their finest shades of green.
HONEYPOT has become the organiser behind some of Dublin's hottest queer club nights. Founded last year by Emma Murphy and Kerry O'Mahony, HONEYPOT is primarily for gay and queer women, but it remains inclusive to everyone as long as you're "sound, supportive and ready to party".
The women's world cup kicks off July 20th and will take place in New Zealand and Australia. It will be Ireland's debut appearance at the cup, with manager Vera Pauw's girls in green primed and raring to go. The team's first game in the cup's group stage will be held in Sydney on July 21st against host country Australia.
Hot Press have also released a song ahead of the cup, Zrazy's ‘Come On Ireland (Giving Us The Right To Dream)' - featuring President Michael D. Higgins.
