Ellie Goulding to perform at half-time of England vs Norway World Cup quarter-final

Ellie Goulding will perform at the England vs Norway World Cup quarter-final in Miami, Florida on Saturday.

“Performing at halftime for England vs Norway has me feeling like truly anything could happen…” read the caption of her Instagram post announcing her performance, alongside photos of her jumping excitedly on her bed.

“I already know the boys will make England proud, it’s coming home.”

England booked their place in the last eight with a 3-2 victory over Mexico, while Norway reached their first ever World Cup quarter-final by knocking out Brazil 2-1, with Erling Haaland scoring both goals.

The quarter-final game is scheduled for 10 pm Irish time.

The winners will go on to face either Argentina or Switzerland in the semi-finals next week.

News of Goulding's performance comes after Justin Bieber was added to the lineup for the first ever World Cup final half-time show. He joins Madonna, BTS, Shakira, Burna Boy and others for an 11-minute set.

Goulding’s last full live concert was on May 23, when she performed on the Main Stage at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend at Herrington Country Park in the UK, where she debuted her new single ‘Black Prada Dress.’

She is preparing to release her sixth studio album I Know Too Much on September 4. Goulding says the new single “sets the tone” for the upcoming album.

The English singer-songwriter has performed at other sports events in the past, most recently at the AIG Women’s Open in 2023.
