Bohemian FC and Oasis team up for special new FAI Cup jersey – launched with video starring Paul Weller
The new shirt – proceeds from which will raise funds for Bohemian FC, Music Generation Ireland, and Irish Community Care Manchester – is available to order now.
Ahead of Oasis's Croke Park gigs next month, the Manchester icons have joined forces with Ireland's oldest football club, Bohemian FC, to release a special new FAI Cup jersey. The shirt was announced this morning alongside a promo video, starring Paul Weller, Bohs player Jordan Flores, and ex-player Paddy Kirk.
The jersey – available to order now – features the iconic Oasis logo in 'the traditional blue tones of Dublin City'.
50% of profits from the shirt will go to Bohemian FC, to build on the club's work across football and community activities. The other 50% will be split between two charities: Music Generation Ireland and Irish Community Care Manchester.
Music Generation Ireland is a national partnership programme that creates inspiring experiences for children and young people through music – while Irish Community Care Manchester is a registered charity that responds to the needs of both the Irish and Irish Traveller communities across Manchester.
"We are delighted to unveil this jersey today following lots of work with the Oasis over the past six months, special thanks to Noel and Liam for supporting this," comments Daniel Lambert, COO of Bohemian FC. "To be able to work with Oasis and design a new iconic shirt that will reach fans around the world is special. And to once again have funds going towards such worthy causes, that will assist thousands of people across Ireland and Manchester is brilliant.
"As a fan-owned football club and a not-for-profit entity the impact on Bohemian FC will be significant and we are most grateful for the support. I would also like to thank Paul Weller who features in the promotional video and came to Dublin specifically to do so."
