Tim Burton and Michael Keaton join forces once more for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the long-awaited sequel to the award-winning, cult-classic comedy, which was first released in 1988.
After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia's life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened.
With trouble brewing in both realms, it's only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice's name three times and the trouble-making demon returns to unleash mayhem.
Keaton, who reprises his iconic role as the film’s titular character, will be re-joined by Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara, with some some new additions to the cast in the form of Justin Theroux, Monica Belluci, Arthur Conti, Hollywood heavyweight Willem Dafoe and rising star Jenna Ortega.
Genre-defining Tim Burton directs from Alfred Gough and Miles Millar’s screenplay, with the story coming from Gough, Millar and Seth Grahame-Smith.
The film’s producers are Marc Toberoff, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Tommy Harper and Burton, with Sara Desmond, Katterli Frauenfelder, Gough, Millar, Brad Pitt, Larry Wilson, Laurence Senelick, Pete Chiappetta, Andrew Lary, Anthony Tittanegro, Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg executive producing.
Burton has assembled a revered posse of behind-the-scenes creatives, including director of photography Haris Zambarloukos, frequent collaborator and production designer Mark Scruton, editor Jay Prychidny, Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, Oscar-winning creature effects and special makeup FX creative supervisor Neal Scanlan, composer Danny Elfman and Oscar-winning hair and makeup designer Christine Blundell.
- Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be released in cinemas and IMAX on September 6, 2024 nationwide. Tickets are available now via this link.
