Watch: The first trailer for the new Michael Hutchence documentary has been released
Bono and Kylie Minogue are among the stars interviewed in the new documentary.
Mystify, the highly anticipated documentary about the late INXS star Michael Hutchence, has revealed its first trailer. The documentary, which debuted to critical acclaim at international film festivals this year, uses interviews and rare archive footage to explore the troubled life and death of the Australian musician.
Bono, Kylie Minogue, surviving members of INXS, and Hutchence's family members appear in interviews in the film, offering personal insights into his rise to fame and rock stardom. The feature-length documentary was written and directed by Richard Lowenstein, who directed most of Hutchence and INXS' music video, as well as the 1986 film Dogs In Space - which starred Hutchence in the lead role.
Hutchence shot to fame in the late '70s as the frontman of Australian rock band INXS. After a series of personal problems in the later years of his life, including a brain injury after being assaulted by a taxi driver, the musician died by suicide on November 22, 1997.
Although currently scheduled for a cinema release in Australia, the documentary is also expected to air on BBC2 later this year.
