Tommy Tiernan announced as baker in The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer
Stand Up to Cancer is a joint fundraising effort from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4, supporting cancer research.
Irish comedian, actor and presenter Tommy Tiernan will feature in Channel 4’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer.
Tiernan is set to join a host of celebrities for the chance at a coveted handshake from judge Paul Hollywood. Joining Hollywood is Caroline Waldergrave, longtime friend of Pru Leith, who stepped down from the spin off to focus on the core series of The Great British Bake Off.
Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond return as hosts, providing encouragement to the celebrities competing in the iconic Bake Off tent.
Each episode of the charity series will see four contestants attempt to execute three challenges - signature, technical, and showstopper rounds. The best baker of the episode will be awarded the title of Star Baker.
Presenter of Good Morning Britain Kate Garraway, broadcaster Gloria Hunniford and property show expert Sarah Beeny will bake in the tent this year.
Comedians Adam Buxton, Phil Wang, Jamali Maddix and Sophie Willan will be joining the star-studded lineup. This year’s series will see two couples step into the tent - Chris and Rosie Ramsey, and Scarlette and Stuart Douglas.
Amelia Dimoldenberg, Ellie Goldstein, Jim Howick, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Roman Kemp, Maxine Peake, Self Esteem (Rebecca Lucy Tayllor), and Meera Syak will also be competing in the charity event.
Since its launch in 2012, the joint fundraising effort Stand Up To Cancer has raised over £113 million (€135 million) for cancer research.
