Tilda Swinton joins Colin Farrell in Netflix's The Ballad of a Small Player
The story revolves around a high-stakes gambler who seeks refuge in Macau to escape his past and debts. While there, he meets a kindred spirit who might offer him a chance at redemption.
Tilda Swinton is set to star alongside Colin Farrell in Edward Berger and Netflix's upcoming film, The Ballad of a Small Player. Production for the film is scheduled to begin in Asia this summer.
The script, based on the novel by Lawrence Osborne, is adapted by Rowan Joffe. The movie will be produced by Mike Goodridge through his production company Good Chaos, along with Edward Berger for Nine Hours and Matthew James Wilkinson for Stigma Films.
This project marks the first collaboration under Berger’s creative partnership and global first-look film deal with Netflix through his company, Nine Hours.
Swinton, currently working on Pedro Almodovar’s The Room Next Door, and with Joshua Oppenheimer’s The End expected to launch later this year, joins the cast.
Farrell, whose much-awaited series The Penguin is set to debut later this year, is also filming the Sony and Imperative drama A Big Bold Beautiful Journey with Margot Robbie.
Berger, known for his Oscar-winning work on Netflix’s All Quiet on the Western Front, will release his next film, Conclave, in November.
