The teaser trailer for the James Stewart biopic, Jimmy, starring KJ Apa has been released.
The film, which began shooting throughout West Cork this past autumn, will cover the life and career of late American actor James Stewart. Jimmy, will follow his descent from small town boy, to Oscar-winning Hollywood star and later, bomber pilot for the US Army Air Corps during World War II.
Stewart is one of the most celebrated actors of his time, praised for his roles in the classic Christmas movie It's A Wonderful Life, and legendary Alfred Hitchcock films such as Rear Window and Vertigo.
Apa, an Australian actor known for his roles in Riverdale and most recently The Map That Leads To You, will play the titular role, starring alongside comedian Jason Alexander and Grey's Anatomy's Sarah Drew. During the past few months Apa could be seen dancing and singing along with buskers in Cork, dressed as his alternate ego Mr. Fantasy, a British musician and social media personality.
Jimmy was produced by West Cork Studios, backed by the Screen Ireland National Fund. It is one of the largest productions to be filmed in West Cork.
