Screen Ireland announces Power Ballad, The Lost Children of Tuam for 2026
Screen Ireland announced the Slate of Productions at an event at Trinity College Dublin today.
Screen Ireland has announced the releases set to reach Irish audiences this year, including Power Ballad and The Lost Children of Tuam.
The development agency announced its Slate of Productions at an event at Trinity College earlier today, stating 87 new projects will be released this year. Filmmakers such as John Carney, John Kelly and Andrew Freeman, were all present at the event.
"Resilience is earned and Screen Ireland is focused on continuing to work collaboratively with partners across the screen industry, and on the provision of strategic support across film, TV, animation and documentary, to ensure that the environment for screen talent remains competitive and supportive," said Screen Ireland CEO Désirée Finnegan.
Among the films featured were Power Ballad, directed by Carney and starring Paul Rudd, and The Last Days of Rabbit Hayes, featuring Niamh Algar and The Lost Children of Tuam, directed by Frank Berry.
The Lost Children of Tuam focuses on historian Catherine Corless’s campaign to uncover the truth about the Tuam Mother and Baby Home.
Documentaries set for release include All About the Money, which was selected for the Sundance film festival this month; Guggi, which was shot over several years and focuses on the Irish artist, and The Slightest Touch, a documentary series which examines Colin Farrell and Emma Fogarty's participation in the Dublin Marathon.
Fogarty lives with Epidermolysis Bullos, an incurable genetic disorder which causes fragile skin, leading to frequent blistering.
Animation was also discussed at the Slate of Productions event, with feature animated film Julian, directed by Louise Bagnall, also set to release this year.
