Reese Witherspoon working on Legally Blonde spin-off series
The O.C. and Gossip Girl's Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are writing a new TV series from the 2001 movie
Reese Witherspoon's iconic role as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde is making a comeback, this time on the small screen. Witherspoon's production company, Hello Sunshine, has confirmed a spin-off TV series inspired by the acclaimed film. Written by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the writers behind Gossip Girl and The O.C., the project is currently in development with Amazon MGM Studios.
"We're bringing #LegallyBlonde back to your screens in a spin-off TV series inspired by the film," announced Hello Sunshine on Instagram.

While details about the plot are scarce, the series will likely capture the essence of the original movie, which followed Elle Woods' journey from a pink-obsessed sorority girl to a successful lawyer at Harvard Law School.
Legally Blonde's success at the box office paved the way for sequels and spin-offs, including Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde and Legally Blondes. With a third instalment, Legally Blonde 3, also in the works, the franchise continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
