Paul Thomas Anderson’s next film to be released in 2021, starring Bradley Cooper and Alana Haim
This 1970s drama is Paul Thomas Anderson’s ninth film and will be available nationwide on Christmas Day.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s newest coming of age drama, starring Bradley Cooper and Alana Haim, will be released by the end of 2021.
The working title for the film is ‘Soggy Bottom’, which – according to the film’s distributor United Artists Releasing (UAR) – will be available for limited release in the US on November 26 and will be available nationwide on Christmas Day.
Following the release of his 2017 film, Phantom Thread (Daniel Day Lewis), the new picture will be Anderson’s ninth film. Although there is no official synopsis at the time of writing, the film takes place in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley in the 1970s.
Bradley Cooper is reportedly playing the role of a Hollywood director, while Cooper Hoffman is a high school child actor, and the film revolves around an encounter between the two characters.
This project will also be the film debut for Alana Haim, who is best-known for her hugely successful pop band with her two sisters, HAIM, and Cooper Hoffman. Cooper Hoffman is also new to the film world, but has acting skills in his genes – his father is the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.
