Normal People leads the way with three TV Choice Awards nominations
In May, the BBC said it had seen 38 million requests to view the hit drama online.
Hit BBC Three/Hulu series Normal People is the frontrunner at the 2020 TV Choice Awards in the UK, after scooping up three nominations in major categories.
The hit series was adapted from Sally Rooney's best-selling novel, and is up for Best New Drama against Gangs Of London, Gentleman Jack and White House Farm.
Daisy Edgar-Jones, who portrayed the role of Marianne, is nominated for best actress and is competing against Brenda Blethyn in Vera, Michelle Keegan in Our Girl and Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer.
Paul Mescal faces tough competition in the Best Actor category from Martin Clunes in Doc Martin, Stephen McGann in Call The Midwife and David Tennant in Deadwater Fell.
Mescal received rave reviews after starring as Connell in his first TV role.
The 12-part series was co-written by Rooney and Alice Birch and directed by Lenny Abrahamson, has been a hit with viewers since airing on the BBC iPlayer, Hulu and RTE in April.
