Nicole Kidman begins filming TV adaptation of Cecilia Ahern's Roar
Shooting will take place on location in Sydney, home turf for Australian actor Nicole Kidman.
Nicole Kidman has begun filming the adaptation of Cecilia Ahern's collection of short stories, titled Roar.
The Oscar winner revealed she was on set in Sydney on Thursday by posting a photo on Instagram, while sporting her character's chic pixie-style haircut.
The star is working alongside a cast which includes Alison Brie (Mad Men, Glow, Community), Cynthia Erivo (Widows), and Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie); with Kidman and author Ahern acting as executive producers on the show.
A plan to adapt the collection has been in the works since Ahern released it in 2018. The lead cast was announced in April this year. The series is purposefully centred on the stories of women, with each episode exploring the perspective of a different character. There is not yet any information available for the series' expected broadcast date.
Kidman has kept busy over the past 18 months of lockdown by filming several projects, such as Hulu original Nine Perfect Strangers and Viking revenge thriller The Northman. The latter, which was filmed in Belfast last autumn, was directed by Robert Eggers.
Kidman starred alongside the likes of William Dafoe, Alexander Skarsgard, Anja Taylor-Joy, and Icelandic pop icon Bjork in the movie which is set for release in Spring 2022.
