Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese has teamed up with the conservative media outlet to produce a new documentary-series focused on the Catholic saints.
Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese will be teaming up with Fox News for a new religious documentary series entitled Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints. Each of the show's eight episodes will focus on the life of a different Catholic saint, including Joan of Arc, John the Baptist and Mary Magdalene.
Scorsese, who was recently praised for his 16th Oscar nomination for Killers of the Flower Moon, will host, produce and direct the series for the conservative US streaming service Fox Nation.
“I’ve lived with the stories of the saints for most of my life, thinking about their words and actions, imagining the worlds they inhabited, the choices they faced, the examples they set,” Scorsese said in a recent statement.
“These are stories of eight very different men and women, each of them living through vastly different periods of history and struggling to follow the way of love revealed to them and to us by Jesus’ words in the gospels. I’m so excited that this project is underway, and that I’m working with so many trusted and talented collaborators.”

Jason Klarman, the chief digital and marketing officer for Fox News Media, said it would be an honour to welcome Scorsese to the platform. Fox Nation, the channel’s streaming service, launched in 2018 and has since become home to shows like Cancel This!, the Patriot Awards, Piers Morgan Uncensored and Tomi Lahren is Fearless.
Scorsese also has an 80-minute film about the life of Jesus Christ in the works, aiming to “take away the negative onus of what has been associated with organised religion.”
Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints will premiere this November.
