Iron Maiden announce documentary Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition
Tickets go on sale on March 18.
Iron Maiden have announced their documentary Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition, set to premiere in cinemas from May 7.
Directed by Malcolm Venville and produced by Dominic Freeman, the film is said to showcase the metal band's five-decade career, with unprecedented access to official band archives.
Alongside the group, the documentary features interviews of Academy Award-winning actor Javier Bardem, founding member of Metallica Lars Ulrich, and frontman of Public Enemy and member of rock group Prophets of Rage Chuck D.
Spanish sci-fi illustrator and graphic designer Alberto "Akirant" Quirantes, who since 2017 has worked with Iron Maiden, has offered the first visual look of Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition with the newly released key art.
The film arrives as the band continues their two-year Run For Your Lives World Tour. The tour celebrates the group's 50th anniversary with a special setlist that covers their first nine studio albums.
As part of their world tour, Iron Maiden performed at Malahide Castle last June.
Since being formed by bassist Steve Harris in East London in 1975, Iron Maiden have released 17 studio albums and 13 live albums, selling over 100 million records. The group has also performed almost 2,500 concerts across 64 countries.
Tickets for the documentary will go on sale on March 18.
