Hot For 2020 Actors: Venetia Bowe
Roe McDermott looks at the Irish film and TV talent set for a huge 2020.
Irish theatre lovers will already be aware of the captivating Venetia Bowe, the actress and co-founder of the brilliantly experimental Chaos Factory theatre company. Bowe toured in Much Ado About Nothing with Rough Magic, appeared in Nora, Belinda McKeon’s version of A Doll’s House, and most recently toured with Louise O’Neill’s hard-hitting tale of rape culture, Asking For It. But in 2020, the Dublin actress is set to star in Cold Courage, the new international crime thriller TV series that also stars Dublin actor Peter Coonan and The Ritual’s Arsher Ali. Based on the bestselling books by Pekka Hiltunen, the eight-part series sees two Finnish women in London drawn into the Studio, a clandestine group dedicated to bringing justice to those beyond the law.
