Drake To Produce A Teen Drama Series
Rapper Drake has been announced as executive producer on the teen dramedy Euphoria .
This will be Drake's first television credits behind the camera. The 'Hotline Bling' singer famously got his start on the Canadian series Degrassi: The Next Generation , where he played Jimmy Brooks. His character became physically disabled after he was shot by a fellow student. He appeared in over 145 episode before his character graduated.
He joins Future the Prince on the new project which has been commissioned by HBO.
Zendaya will also be involved in the project, starring as the lead character Rue. The show will follow a group of teenagers in high school navigating issues of identity, drugs, alcohol and sex.
Other cast members will include Eric Dane, Barbie Ferreira, Maude Apatow and Hunter Schafer. The episodes will be written by Sam Levinson.
HBO will air the pilot next March.
