David Holmes Wins for 'Killing Eve' Soundtrack at Bafta TV Awards

Belfast composer David Holmes was recently given the Bafta TV Craft Award for his work on the soundtrack to Killing Eve. Holmes co-composed the soundtrack in its entirety with partner Keefus Ciancia, and performed much of it with his band Unloved. The awards show comes one month before the main Bafta TV awards and focuses more so on behind the scenes and off-screen contributions to television.

Killing Eve, a spy thriller which has been a hit in the UK and in the USA, stars Sandra Oh, well known for her role on Grey’s Anatomy, and Jodie Comer, who play an MI5 spy and a ruthless assassin respectively.

Holmes started his career over three decades ago, performing as a DJ in the city of Belfast since he was 15 years of age. He has also composed soundtracks for the Ocean’s Eleven tv show, Steven Soderbergh’s film Out Of Sight, and Buffalo Soldiers, a film about a group of US soldiers set to witness the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Killing Eve is up for best drama series, with Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer both nominated for best lead actress.
