Cillian Murphy’s son Aran cast in Klara and the Sun

Cillian Murphy’s son Aran is the most recent addition to the cast of Taika Waititi’s upcoming film Klara and the Sun.

Presented alongside newcomer Mia Tharia, Aran will join stars Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams in the screen adaptation of Nobel prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro’s dystopian sci-fi novel.

With Ishiguro onboard as an executive producer, the story will follow Klara (Ortega), an Artificial Friend bought by a concerned mother (Adams) to accompany her daughter Josie (Tharia). Murphy’s character, Rick, is Josie’s next-door neighbour and best friend.

Murphy’s previous acting experience includes a starring role in Bush Moukarzel and Ben Kidd’s play Hamnet and an appearance in Andrew Legge’s 2022 film Lola.
