Belfast actor Lola Petticrew joins Assassin’s Creed cast
The series is based on the video game franchise of the same name.
Belfast-born actor Lola Petticrew has joined the cast for Netflix's Assassin’s Creed series.
She is set to star alongside Toby Wallace, who was previously added to the cast.
The adaptation is “centred on the secret war between two shadowy factions — one set on determining mankind’s future through control and manipulation, while the other fights to preserve free will," according to a synopsis. "The series follows its characters across pivotal historical events as they battle to shape humanity’s destiny.”
The show is based on the video game franchise of the same name, which debuted in 2007. 14 instalments of the game have now been released, selling over 230 million copies, with the most recent being Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, released earlier this year.
A film adaptation starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard was released in 2016.
Known for her role in Say Nothing, Petticrew won an IFTA Award and received a British Academy Television Award nomination for the role. The 29-year-old has featured in TV series Trespasses, Three Families, Anne Boleyn and Bloodlands, along with films including Tuesday, Wolf and Dating Amber.
