Watch the teaser trailer below.
Apple TV+ is set to launch its psychological horror thriller, Cape Fear, on Friday, June 5, with the first two episodes debuting. New episodes of the 10-episode series will follow every Friday, concluding on July 31, 2026.
The series is a modern adaptation inspired by both the 1957 novel The Executioners by John D. MacDonald and the 1991 film directed by Martin Scorsese, which starred Robert De Niro, Nick Nolte and Jessica Lange. Both Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, who produced the 1991 film, serve as executive producers on this new version.
The plot centres on a convicted rapist, released from prison after serving a fourteen-year sentence, who stalks the family of the lawyer who originally defended him.
Amy Adams and Javier Bardem star as well as executive produce, alongside Patrick Wilson who will also star in the series. The ensemble cast also includes Joe Anders, Lily Collias, Malia Pyles, and CCH Pounder.
The series is showrun and executive produced by Nick Antosca with Morten Tyldum directing the pilot and also serving as an executive producer.
