The upcoming Disney sequel is set 15 years after the first movie.
Forthcoming Disney movie Disenchanted has wrapped production in Ireland after stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel and Maya Rudolph spent time filming in Wicklow and Dublin.
Posting to his Instagram followers, the film's director Adam Shankman revealed that the sequel to 2017’s Enchanted has officially completed shooting here.
"Myself and Giselle…errrr…[email protected] would just like to say: And that’s a wrap. #Disenchanted coming to you in #2022"
In Enchanted, Amy Adams’ character, an animated maiden named Giselle, is transported from the fairytale land of Andalasia to real world of New York City where she meets and falls in love with a lawyer Robert Phillip - played by Patrick Dempsey. The film combined Disney’s classic 2D animation style with live-action, and featured original songs from legends Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz.
The upcoming sequel is set over a decade after the first movie and sees Giselle questioning her happiness with her new life, leading to some drastic changes in both the real world and Andalasia. Giselle moves to the suburb of Monroeville with Robert and their teenage daughter Morgan, where she must juggle the challenges that come with a new home and discover what happily ever after truly means to her and her new family.
Disenchanted filmed in the picturesque villages of Enniskerry, which was turned into a fairytale village, and Greystones in Wicklow over the course of the past few months.
Last week, Adams visited the Book of Kells in Trinity College Dublin with her husband Darren De Gallo during a break from filming, while former Grey's Anatomy actor Dempsey shared many of his Irish adventures on Instagram, including a visit to Dalkey Island.

Co-star Rudolph (Bridesmaids, Saturday Night Live) visited a Dublin restaurant where she left staff a special note and took a sightseeing trip around Howth on Ireland's Eye Ferries with her family. During filming in Ireland, James Marsden of Westworld and Frozen star Idina Menzel were also spotted.
Disenchanted will debut exclusively on Disney+ in 2022, but an exact release date has not been announced.
