WATCH: The Colony Trailer Starring Emma Watson
In a corrupt Chilean coup of 1973, a young couple must endure atrocity to escape.
Based on true events, The Colony is the upcoming thriller staring Emma Watson and Daniel Brühl as the lovers caught in a crossfire.
In the backdrop of the 1973 Chilean military coup, Daniel (Brühl) is abducted by the Chilean secret police during street riots. Left utterly devastated and no idea where he could be Lena (Watson) works tirelessly until she tracks him down. Her search for Daniel leads her to the infamous Colonia Dignidad; a sectarian cult that's run by the imperious Paul Schäfer. Where brutality and abuse reign and are masked under the name of a supposed charity, Lena and Daniel face an inconceivable task of trying to escape.
The Colony is out July 1.
