Moldy Peach Adam Green has phoned in his debut feature-length film.
Not content with recording an ace new album, MusiK For A Play, which is out in early May, Moldy Peach Adam Green has put his iPhone to supremely good use by filming a feature length movie on it.
Available as a free www.thewrongferarri.com download, the “screwball tragedy” features cameos from Macaulay Culkin, Sky Ferreira, Jeffrey Lewis, Dev Hynes, Pete Doherty, Devendra Banhart and flying the flag for dear old Ireland, BP Fallon who takes care of narration duties.
Having watched it, you won’t be unduly surprised to learn that The Wrong Ferarri was dreamt up by the alt. folker whilst off his gicker on ketamine. Who says the drugs don’t work?
Caught In The Net never revels in other people’s misfortunes, it lies, but we couldn’t help but be morbidly fascinated last week when English author Jacqueline Howett committed career hare kiri online.
Ms. Howett took grave exception to blogger Big Al pointing out that her new tome, The Greek Seaman, contains numerous tipogrophical orrors and clumsy sentances like, “Don and Katy watched hypnotically Gino place more coffees out at another table with supreme balance.”
Rather than take the criticism on the chin, Howlett posted a series of increasingly hysterical responses culminating in her telling Big Al and his thousands of followers, literary agents and publishers among them, to “fuck off!”
Ms. Howlett’s defence of her writing skills was somewhat undermined by her not knowing the difference between “your”/“you’re” and “their”/“there”, insisting that the review “don’t make sense” and admonishing Al for his “discusting” behaviour.
See how the drama unfolded at booksandpals.blogspot.com/2011/03/greek-seaman-jacqueline-howett.html.
From there it’s but a mere mouse-click to www.pulppeople.com/#index where Jarvis and Co. have set up a repository of fans and celebrity admirers alike covering their songs. Our favourites include Jap poppers Fad X Good Fellas’ spectacular demolition of ‘Disco 2000’ and, expanding on the theme, the anonymous person or persons who made the Lego video for William Shatner’s version of ‘Common People’.
