Tech Review: Hitman Go: VR
Samsung Gear VR (Square Enix)
Humourless assassin Agent 47 is making a killing in the world of virtual reality. While Hitman console games feature the contract killer in immersive environments in which you dress up in disguises, sneak around corridors, and kill politicians with poisoned Mojitos, this VR edition resembles a board game.
Pop on the Samsung Gear headset to be presented with a 3D plateau, featuring Agent 47 and his intended target. This puzzle game is turn based, so for each move you make, the enemy makes another. Time your moves with chess-like precision to cause distractions, sneak up on guards, and eventually take out your victim. The game features 91 levels, with the difficulty ramping up as you advance.
Although you can spin around the virtual reality plateau to plot your path, it’s annoyingly positioned in your lap. A sore neck is the karmic price you’ll pay for this grisly campaign.
Rating: 5/10
