Rina Sawayama adds second 3Olympia Theatre show due to demand
Sawayama will return to Dublin this October for two shows at the 3Olympia Theatre due to phenomenal demand.
Always one for opulence and excess (according to her tongue-in-cheek banger 'XS'), Sawayama is gifting her Irish fans a second Dublin show after her first 3Olympia Theatre show sold out. Her dual dates will take place on Saturday, October 15th and Sunday, October 16th this year.
The Japanese-British singer-songwriter released the single 'This Hell' in May of this year. The song was accompanied by the release of a second single yesterday: 'Catch Me In The Air'.
The songs are a teaser for her forthcoming album, Hold the Girl - set to be released on September 2nd via Dirty Hit. The resulting tour will celebrate the LP's anticipated arrival and take the 31-year-old London-based star through Europe.
Two shows at 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin are on the bill, after her recent Academy Dublin showstopper, and her Mother Dublin performance on Sunday (despite Aer Lingus losing her bags...her Juicy Couture tracksuit was a hit).
Sawayama is known for her unique electropop sound with echos of R&B, rock and country. Her music is made for dancing, essentially.
In the past, she's collaborated with Charli XCX and released two bodies of work: SAWAYAMA (2020) and RINA (2017). The former received critical acclaim from the likes of The New York Times, The Guardian, Hot Press and Rolling Stone. The musician also collaborated with Elton John in 2021 on an emotional version of the song 'Chosen Family'. Next year will see the expansion of the singer's talents as she stars in John Wick 4 alongside Keanu Reeves.
Tickets for her upcoming Hold the Girl outing at the 3Olympia Theatre will go on sale this Friday, July 1st.
