Bureau De Change Song Contest returns to the 3Olympia, featuring Tony Cantwell, Michael Fry, Justine Stafford and more
Tickets will go on sale on Friday, February 20.
The sixth edition of the Bureau De Change Song Contest, a parody of the Eurovision Song Contest, will be taking place on May 15 at the 3Olympia.
"This show started as a chaotic idea that refused to behave," said creator of the Bureau De Change, Tony Cantwell. "Six years on, it has taken on a life of its own.
"Every year the bar gets higher, the costumes get bolder and the songs get more outrageous. It is everything Eurovision represents, just with more jokes and fewer rules."
Hosted by Kevin McGahern and Alison Spittle, the show will feature some of Ireland's most well-known comedians. Each one will represent a country, writing and producing an original song, competing for the title live on stage.
Alongside Tony Cantwell, the line-up includes Michael Fry, Justine Stafford, Ali Fox, John Doran, Killian Sundermann, Meg Reilly, Peter McGann, Sadhbh McLoughlin, and Ryan Carrick. More acts are to be announced.
Cantwell also took to Instagram to announce the date of the show, captioning his post with "The only European themed singing competition you can enjoy this year!"
Recently, the Eurovision Song Contest has been surrounded by controversy due to its decision to allow Israel to participate in this year's edition. Because of this, many countries, including Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Iceland have decided to pull out of the competition.
The 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest is set to take place in May, in Vienna, Austria. However, RTÉ will not be broadcasting the contest.
Starting at €31, tickets for the Bureau De Change Song Contest will be available on Ticketmaster.ie on February 20.
