Review: HW-K950 Soundbar
A scene in the cult movie Spinal Tap – ostensibly a mockumentary, but in fact a truthful commentary about life in a band – features the lead singer’s girlfriend opining, “You don’t do heavy metal in Dobly”.
In 2015, Dolby (as it’s correctly spelled), is still a great technology for metal, jazz, hip-hop, or Bavarian blues for that matter. At least, Samsung thinks so.
The tech manufacturer has installed Dolby Atmos, which expands on traditional 5.1 and 7.1 surround-sound set-ups, in its latest speaker system. The HW-K950 Soundbar is the ultimate companion for watching movies at home, using three forward-facing and two upwards-facing speakers to deliver 5.1.4-channel sound. Audio comes from above, the sides and behind, providing film fans with a bombastic soundtrack experience.
