President Higgins to open Áras an Uachtaráin to the public for Culture Night
Tickets will be awarded by a lottery system. The closing date for applications is 31 August 2023.
The President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, and his wife, Sabina, have announced that Áras an Uachtaráin will be open to the public on Culture Night, Friday, 22 September.
“Visitors will be given an insight into the history of the official residence of the President of Ireland and a cultural performance will be presented,” said a statement posted to the president’s website.

Culture night will be celebrating its 18th year this Autumn.
Directed by the Arts Council, the event shines a light on the quality and breadth of Ireland’s diverse cultural offerings, while introducing audiences to new venues and emerging talent.
All activities on Culture Night 2023 are free of charge.
Commenting on the evening, Minister Catherine Martin said that “ Culture Night is always a major highlight in the cultural calendar, and I look forward to seeing people across Ireland celebrating One Night For All.”
Culture Night at Áras an Uachtaráin will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m and is a ticket only event. Those looking to apply for tickets must email their name and postal address to [email protected].
