Netflix Releases new trailer for Death Note
Last Wednesday Netflix released a new trailer for Death Note, the American live-action movie adaptation of the japanese manga of the same name.
The death note is a book that originates from the world of ‘Shinigami’ or ‘death gods’. Ryuk, a death god played by Willem Dafoe, throws his death note into the human world for someone to find. The trailer shows how the book falls from the sky onto the school grounds, where it is found by protagonist Light Turner, played by Nat Wolff. The first line of the note declares:
“The human whose name is written in this note shall die”
Light Turner takes justice in his own hands and starts punishing criminals by writing their names onto the pages of the death note while simultaneously trying to avoid exposure by the mastermind known as ‘L’.
The movie is planned to be released August 25 2017 on Netflix.
