Mountjoy Prison to host Christmas album release tomorrow
The event will celebrate a brand new musical collaboration between the choirs of Mountjoy Prison and SOLAS.
The Mountjoy Prison Inhouse Voices and the SOLAS Workplace Choir have partnered up to create Jingle Jangle, a Christmas album that will launch at a special fundraising concert in Mountjoy tomorrow, Thursday 14 November. The concert will begin at 6:45 p.m., with proceeds from the concert and album sales benefiting Dublin Simon.
SOLAS is the state organisation with responsibility for funding, planning and co-ordinating Further Education and Training (FET) in Ireland. Further information on SOLAS can be found at solas.ie.
The SOLAS and Mountjoy choirs began collaborating earlier this year as a result of TEDxMountjoyPrison, an event organised by SOLAS and the first ever TEDx event to take place in an Irish prison.
