Launch event for Outhouse charity art auction announced
The launch event includes an art exhibition, drinks, and an appearance by special guest Panti Bliss.
The launch event for Outhouse's annual charity art auction, Arthouse, will take place on October 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. The online art auction is a key fundraiser for Outhouse, Dublin's main organisation for LGBTQ+ people and affairs.
At the launch event, drinks will be served and a selection of the works of art up for auction displayed. Participating artists will be in attendance, plus special guest Rory O'Neill, better known as drag queen Panti Bliss.
Outhouse is a community centre for queer people in Dublin. It hosts various social support groups, and campaigns for the rights of queer people with the goal of creating "a future where LGBTQ+ people are safe, seen, and celebrated".
Over 360 pieces created by more than 240 artists, both well-established and emerging, will be auctioned for Arthouse this year. Artists involved include Leah Beggs, Neil Dunne, Shane O'Driscoll, Leah Hewson, and Eamon Colman.
A full catalogue of the available artwork goes live online the night of the launch, and bids can be placed starting then. Each piece has been designated for auction on either November 7 or November 8, when final bids will be placed from 3 p.m.
The auction will be available from October 15 here. For more information on the launch, see here.
