Dublin Simon Community online art auction to kick off next week with contributions from Bono, Gavin Friday, Liam Ó Maonlaí and more
The auction takes place from December 5 to 10 and raises funds for those experiencing homelessness across Dublin and beyond.
Dublin Simon Community have announced A Community of Hope: Artists for Dublin Simon, their third annual online art auction which will take place from December 5 to 10, and raise vital funds for those experiencing homelessness across Dublin and beyond.
The auction will offer a collection of more than 100 original artworks, limited edition prints, photography, jewellery, and signed memorabilia from a variety of artists such as musicians Bono, Gavin Friday, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Caroline Corr, Andrea Corr.
Contributors also include visual artists like Carol Hodder, Colin Martin, Bernadette Kiely, Guggi and more, as well as jewellery designer Chupi Sweetman, designers Electronic Sheep, drag queen Panti Bliss.
As of 2025, 11,952 people including 3,887 children living in emergency accommodation in Dublin alone, not including those rough sleeping, people in domestic violence shelters, refugees, and those on our streets seeking asylum.
“This time of year tends to be the toughest for those experiencing homelessness,” comments Emma McMillen, Dublin Simon Community Director of Homeless and Community Services.
“When the temperatures plummet,” she continues, “those enduring the cold nights out on the streets face unimaginable hardships. With more people than ever before without a place to call home, we’re trying to raise as much as possible to give these people a little bit of hope this Christmas.”
The art auction will be accompanied by an exhibition in Flux Studios D2, running from December 5 to 10, from 11am to 5pm daily.
The 2024 Art Auction raised €65,000.
John O’Donnell, founder and curator of A Community of Hope: Artists for Dublin Simon said: “I am continually amazed at the generosity of the artists, photographers, writers and musicians that donate to this event every year.
“The funds raised are essential for Dublin Simon Community to complete their great work. It’s a great opportunity to donate to the cause and get something for your wall to remember that donation.”
