Keywest's Andy Kavanagh on Supporting Imelda May at the Trinity Summer Series
We're on a promo tour for our new single, 'Save My Soul', at the moment, so we'll be performing that as part of our set in Trinity. So far the single has been really well-received: it's one of those songs you just love to perform. By the time we get to the Summer Series, we'll have the song in ship shape. We also released our new album earlier in the year, and have been promoting it ever since: it's got a nice up-tempo folk feel.
I heard Imelda's music for the first time when we were a new band ourselves, performing at festivals. I remember watching her set afterwards. She's so consistent and she's a great entertainer which I've always enjoyed most about her.
We've never played Trinity before. The vibe is going to be great, real chilled out. Hopefully the weather will stay good and everyone will have a great time. It will be the fifth in a string of five days for us, so we won't get a chance to see any of the other shows. Catching Gavin James would certainly have been on my to-do list - we go back a long way, and I always love the fact that he is doing well.
