Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong: "After 30 years of collecting odds and ends and really good stuff, I have to sell some of it off."
Green Day to sell some of their music collection this February, including studio gear and a guitar used on the 'Dookie' album.
American punk band Green Day are selling some of their collection including guitars, amps and pro-audio gear on Reverb. The items will be available from the Official Green Day Reverb Shop on 7 February.
The band have been around since 1986 and will be selling gear from over the three decades in the spotlight, including a guitar used on their Dookie album and drum kits from past tours.
Billie Joe Armstrong has said "After 30 years of collecting odds and ends and really good stuff, I have to sell some of it off."
The lead singer believes "every guitar has its own character" as they reflect "who you are – the kind of songwriter you are, the kind of guitar player that you are. Used guitars, in particular, come with a history to them. I love the character you can see looking at a fretboard that’s been used."
