EXCLUSIVE: Noel Hogan on the WHY CAN'T WE? Cranberries book & some of his fondest Dolores memories
Our man Stuart Clark caught up with Noel this week in Limerick
Hot Press was delighted to have a festive catch-up with Cranberries man Noel Hogan this week as he chilled in Limerick with his family. Like thousands of the band's fans he's been plowing through his copy of the WHY CAN'T WE? The Story Of The Cranberries And Their Iconic Frontwoman As Told Through The Pages Of Hot Press book, which is available now from O'Mahony's in Limerick, all branches of Dubray Books and https://shop.hotpress.com
"It's great, it looks fantastic," Noel tells book curator Stuart Clark. "Well done and thank you for all the time and effort gone into it. For a first book that we've been behind, it's something to be really proud of. You're always trying to have a certain quality of things you do, and even before I got to see it loads of people had got theirs and everybody was raving about it."
We're not giving too much else away, suffice it to say that in the exclusive interview below Noel talks about some of his favourite Dolores moments (he was an eyewitness to Michael Stipe trying on her rubber skirt); early American club gigs; their first arena tour with Duran Duran; the special rapport they have with producer Stephen Street; his favourite Cranberries album cover; and their legendary Christmas 1993 Theatre Royal, Limerick homecoming show.
Enjoy!
