Don DeLillo's White Noise to Receive Film Adaptation
Prepare for vacuous navel-gazing over superficial modernity.
Among modern American postmodernism, Don DeLillo remains one of the shining figureheads. Like many of his kind, his literature is often described as dense and impenetrable. For critics, he is regarded as one of the best American writers working today, though there have been some notable cases of critics who disagreed. Your mileage may vary, of course.
Like it or not, there's a movie coming, scripted by Michael Almereyda, best known for his work on 2000's Hamlet, starring Ethan Hawke.
White Noise will be the second DeLillo novel to receive a film adaptation, after David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis. The film will be produced by BB Film Productions. Uri Singer, the owner of the company, believes that they will have a director, soon.
