Caught in the net: Surefire Brett

Australian fast bowler Brett Lee is at number four this week in the Indian singles chart with a song he dashed out in 30 minutes last year after a practice session.

‘You’re The One For Me’ finds Lee duetting with Asha Bhosle, the Bollywood veteran who inspired Cornershop’s ‘Brimful Of Asha’.
“My family has always followed cricket avidly, so recording with Brett was exciting,” enthuses Bhosle who’s recorded a whopping 13,000 songs during career.
“Please give me one chance, I know I’m not an Indy/I promise I’ll make you laugh, I’ll even learn some Hindi,” Lee croons as he attempts to woo a local lovely.
“We had talked about it for a while, but in the end it happened really quickly,” he says. “Asha is the Aretha Franklin of India, so it was amazing to work with her and it is just as amazing to hear the record.”
Lee has form having played before with a New South Wales outfit called Six And Out.
