Belfast's annual Scratch My Progress programme shares new EP
The EP includes four exciting Northern Ireland artists with FYA Fox, Balcony Sunrise, Niall McDowell and Rachel Craig following their involvement in the September to May programme.
The Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast sponsored the 11th annual Scratch My Progress with a new EP featuring works from up and coming Northern Ireland artists. The tracks include “LET’S GO” by Balcony Sunrise, “GHOST” by Fya Fox, “I Have Given Up” by Niall McDowell and “The Ghost of You” by Rachel Craig.
The programme is supported by Youtube Music and PRS Foundation with additional support from Belfast City Council and Arts Council Northern Ireland.
Over the 11 years of Scratch My Progress, new artists have been able to interact with one-on-one sessions with a multitude of important music organisations. Some of the highlights include Atlantic Records (Ed Sheeren, Charli XCX), PPL, Musicians Union, Domino Records (Anna Calvi, Arctic Monkeys), Runaway Artists, First Music Contact and more.
The Scratch My Progress has produced multiple artists of note ever since the programme first started in 2011, such as Northern Ireland Music Prize Winners Sister Ghost, Kitt Philippa and Sasha Samara.
Multiple artists of various styles of pop, rock, folk, punk, alternative, electronic and alternative genres have participated in the Oh Yeah programme. The scheme helped support the debut of Lemonade Shoelace in 2021 and more recent graduates Problem Patterns secured an Alcopop! label deal.
