Artists in Lockdown: Elizabeth Moen, 'In Quarantine'
Tune in to Moen's Instagram for her "Wine Wednesday" live streams.
Elizabeth Moen is from Iowa, but she might as well be honorarily Irish. She has performed here more times than I can count, and back when live gigs were a thing (remember those??) she was a seasonal regular at the Monday night Bourke's Song Cycle. Her band consists of various members of the Irish and American music communities, and pre-pandemic, Moen was splitting her time between Iowa, Dublin and San Francisco.
One of our Hot for 2020 acts, Moen's bluesy twang blew us away on songs like 'Headgear' and 'Ex's House Party'. In lieu of live gigs, Moen now hosts "Wine Wednesdays" weekly over on her Instagram.
Her quarantine playlist includes Fontaines D.C., Caoimhe Barry of Wyvern Lingo, and Valley Queen, my new favourite find (thanks Liz!).
Have a drink with us at the next Wine Wednesday, and listen to her favourite quarantine jams below.
