Adam Mohamed unveils debut collection A Ballymun Blend
The launch night will feature readings, poetry and performances from locals including Bricknasty's Fatboy
Adam Mohamed has unveiled his debut collection A Ballymun Blend, an intimate selection of interviews, conversations and poetry from residents of all ages.
The work, produced by Mohamed is a part of the Ballymun is Brilliant project. It explores themes of nature, identity and beauty in the past, present, and future of Ballymun, interwoven together throughout the experiences of the community.
Axis, in Ballymun, are hosting a special event for the launch of the collect on August 29. The night will include poetry, and performances from local people including Bricknasty's Fatboy.
"There’s no better feeling than seeing an idea come to reality, and the fact that it’s something you can see and touch makes it so much sweeter," read the Instagram post from Mohamed.
"I’m still processing everything but thank you to everyone who made this possible. Copies will available to buy on launch night."
The poet took to writing at an earlier age, but also released his debut single 'Untitled' in 2021, a spoken word song exploring themes of race and religion, followed by his sophomore track 'Me & I.'
The Axis centre opened its doors in 2001, and is a creative space for both the Ballymun community and arts professionals.
Tickets to A Ballymun Blend launch event are available here.
