We all know Winnie, his love of honey and his feral friends but relatively little is known about the man AA Milne who brought Winnie into our lives.
Director Simon Curtis wants to delve into the man behind the cartoon and he has his eyes set on the highly sought after Domhnall Gleeson to play Milne.
The biopic would look into the inspiration Milne took from his personal life into creating the beloved bear, namely the inspiration he took from his son Robin. Robin's toys and his interaction with them sparked a reaction in Milne that developed into the adventures of Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore. The film would be titled Goodby Christopher Robin and Gleeson is currently in talks with producers to lead the cast.
They will have a hard time bagging Gleeson however as he is certainly a very busy man by all accounts. Gleeson will reprise his role as the villianous General Hux in Star Wars: Episode VII, he will star alongside Tom Cruise in drug-trafficking drama Mena and as National Lampoon magazine founder in the Netflix comedy A Futile and Stupid Gesture. All in a days work, eh?
