Brooklyn Director John Crowley to Follow on With The Goldfinch

John Crowley is undertaking the task again, this time with Donna Tartt's bestselling novel, The Goldfinch.
This particular project has been in the works since being acquired in 2014 by Warner Bros. The script adaptation is courtesy of Peter Straughan (Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy). Crowley is the latest addition to The Goldfinch, entrusting him to bring to life the tales of protagonist Theodore Decker.
A far cry from the romantic swoons that carried Brooklyn, The Goldfinch starts out with Theodore Decker as a 13 year old who survives a terrorist bomb attack at the MET where his beloved mother dies. As he staggers through the debris, he pinches the famous painting The Goldfinch and is taken in by an affluent family. Casting for the filming is yet unknown.
Crowley is currently busy on Broadway directing Oscar-winning Cate Blanchett in The Present. With the astounding success that Crowley enjoyed with Brooklyn, it will be a pleasure to see what he will make of The Goldfinch.
