Six Must See Acts At This Weekend's Hard Working Class Heroes

With internationally renownded industry names such as Richard Jones from Key Music Management to the man who knows the Irish music scene inside-out, Niall Byrne all gathering around Dublin's favourite music venues for the fourteenth year of Hard Working Class Heroes, we look at some of the acts were most excited for.

1.Aislinn Logan

Hailing from Belfast, the multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter is one of the Ireland's most exciting upcoming acts. After releasing her warmly recieved single 'So Loud/Dancing With Demons' in July she's showing no signs of slowing down with a string of gigs and a new EP in the pipeline for mid-Autum.

Where: The Tara Building, Saturday at 19:15

2. Fontaines

The 5 piece Rock & Roll band based in Dublin are back for their second year in a row at HWCH. The band released their debut single 'Liberty Belle', at the end of May on 7" vinyl and digital platforms as well as supporting acts such as Yak and The Lemon Twigs at their Irish shows.

Where: The Workman's Club, Friday at 8.45pm

3. Elm

Described as 'four queers who love all things pop' the Avant-Pop BIMM graduates are creativity, weaving through their own authentic self whilst projecting a new wave of gender fluidity.

To date, Elm have released 'Amends' & 'Concentrate', which generated over 300,00 streams on Spotify, and made waves at the Irish festival circuit at the likes of Electric Picnic, Body & Soul, Other Voices.

Where: The Tramline, Friday at 9:15

4. Le Boom

The electro pop duo's energetic late-night live shows have attracted media and industry attention not only in Ireland but also in the US. Their performances have been hailed as “a frenzy of glass-bottle beats, layered loops, catchy vocal hooks and sweaty fans who dance like no other fans in the world”. Armed with the explosive and infectious single ‘What We Do’, Le Boom are guaranteed to get the party started in style.

Where: Saturday The Grand Social at 9:30

5. Soulé

One of the Hot Press’ team's favourite rising stars, the Balbriggan based artist’s music is a bewitching brew of 2step, soul, noughties garage and cerebral pop-infused goodness. Informed by artists such as Chrisette Michele, ASA, Nneka and Erykah Badu, the April-released ‘Troublemaker’ was a huge moment for the singer.

Her Choice Music Prize-nominated debut single ‘Love No More’ is just as awesome too and both songs will ensure her set will be absolutely unmissable.

Where: The Tramline, Saturday at 10:45pm

6. David Keenan

A musician already catching the eye of Glen Hansard and The Strypes, the Dundalk songwriter is quickly turning heads with his poetic lyrics and classical Irish lilt. With powerfu lyrics and a magnetic energy, he's not one to be missed.

Where: Friday, The Tara Building at 9:30
