Sales of Bonnie Tylers 'Total Eclipse of The Heart' has risen by 500% in past week.
The buzz around the total solar eclipse seen in the US has given the classic ballad a second life.
Thanks to a naturally occurring, but relatively rare cosmic event, Bonnie Tyler is having her best week in a while. Her 1983 smash hit 'Total Eclpise of the Heart' is enjoying a huge surge in sales in the US thanks the to hoopla surrounding the total solar eclipse which can seen across the country on August 21.
According to Nielsen Music, The song sold 12,000 downloads in the U.S. in the week ending August 20 which is up from just 2,000 in the week ending August 13. On the August 20 alone, there was 4000 downloads recorded.
It's expected that sales will continue to surge today, on the day of the eclipse itself. Not too bad for song that allegedly about vampires falling in love. When the original track was releeade back in 1983 it was a No1 hit for Tyler in the US and would end up being her only no.1 in the country.
