Adam Ant and Iggy Pop included for Isle of Wight festival punk celebration
The 40th anniversary of punk's birth will also be marked by The Damned and The Buzzcocks
1976 is widely regarded as the year punk was born - the year The Sex Pistols signed to EMI, and the likes of The Clash and The Slits first formed - so the Isle of Wight festival is plotting to include a whole bunch of acts to celebrate the 40th anniversary.
Iggy Pop, Adam Ant (pictured) and The Damned are among those who'll join headliners Queen and Adam Lambert, Stereophonics and Faithless at the festival, which takes place from June 11-14 next year.
Iggy will be taking his rightful place on the main stage, while Adam Ant will perform his classic album Kings of the Wild Frontier in its entirety, some 35 years after it was the biggest selling album of the year.
