Snow Patrol confirmed to support U2
Snow Patrol will be opening for U2 during part of their European tour, hotpress.com can exclusively reveal
Snow Patrol will be supporting U2 on several of their European tour dates, a band spokesman has confirmed.
Tipped by Hot Press for the prestigious support slot, Stuart Clark had put the question to Bono as early as October.
“We’d love to take Snow Patrol out on the road,” Bono told Hot Press. “There’s some beautiful singing and songs, and Jacknife Lee made as brilliant a job of their record as he did ours.”
Snow Patrol had also indicated that they would be delighted to open for U2’s Vertigo tour, citing their recording schedule as the only possible hindrance.
Currently in the studio working on the follow-up to their Final Straw album, hotpress.com can now confirm that Snow Patrol be supporting U2 on the following tour dates:
Brussels’ King Baudouin Stadium on June 10, Manchester Stadium (June 14), Dublin’s Croke Park (June 24), Berlin Olympic Stadium (July 7) and Paris’ Stade de France (July 9).
They have also been confirmed to play this year’s Isle of Wight festival on June 12.
