The musical equivalent of a puppy humping your Leg. This is not a recommendation
By the time you read this review, Scouting For Girls’ second record Everybody Wants To Be On TV will no doubt be gracing the upper echelons of the pop charts. Is this a good thing? My own response is ‘no’. You see, while the English trio dress up their three minute songs with pretty melodies (‘Little Miss Naughty’), ultimately it’s all very child friendly and toothless.
Now I’m sure Scouting For Girls are a nice bunch of lads and they eat all their greens, drink their milk and say their prayers at night, but their album is the equivalent of an over-enthusiastic puppy trying to hump your leg. Lyrically speaking the band are pretty much retreading the same waters as before (heart-break, heart-break and more heart-break) and while we’re sure ‘This Ain’t A Love Song,’ ‘Famous’ and ‘Posh Girls’ will please many of you, this reviewer was not impressed. Maybe it’s just me...
