In My Bag
DJ Morpheus, Belgian across the board spinner and compiler of the acclaimed Freezone series, drops a very tasteful collection of musical, predominantly down tempo gems that'll do his reputation no harm.
DJ Morpheus, Belgian across the board spinner and compiler of the acclaimed Freezone series, drops a very tasteful collection of musical, predominantly down tempo gems that'll do his reputation no harm. The soulful and reggae-tinged blues of album openers from Rotary Connection, Five Deez and Ragga Disco Rockers open the account atmospherically, before Morpheus moves into more jazzy territories courtesy of Matthew and Computer Jockeys. After a brief flirtation with trippy, disco inflected tech-house via a Headhunters and Future Homosapiens sound clash, Morpheus returns to non dancefloor sounds with the gorgeous, brassy ragga vocal tinged 'Black Blood' by Bah Samba and Layo & Bushwacka's unusual tribal chanting inspired 'Kusekhaya' providing the highlights. Although at times erring into noodle filled abstraction, the range and variety of sounds spanned by In My Bag is testament to his flawless taste and intuitive understanding of modern music.
